Qualification Needs in OECD Countries - Identification, Analysis and Implementation

Ralf Mytzek (WZB), Klaus Schömann (IUB) and Susanne Liane Schmidt (FhIAO) organized the Workshop “European Dimensions of Early Recognition” at the congress “Qualification in Change: Advantages and Perspectives of Early Recognition”. The congress was arranged by the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research and took place on 27.04.2005 in Berlin.

Christoph Hilbert (WZB) and Klaus Schömann (IUB) organized a workshop on „Actual skills and skill needs within regions: analysis and implementation“ which took place at the International University Bremen, 17 to 18 February 2005.

Christoph Hilbert attended the final plenary session at the  conference "Systems, institutional frameworks and processes for early identification of skills". His presentation has the title "Systems for identification skill needs in OECD-countries – Experiences of project work". The conference took place from 25. to 26.11. 04 at the European Foundation for the Improvement of Living and Working Conditions, Dublin, Ireland .

Klaus Schömann organized a round table discussion with participants, contributors, social partners on  "European qualifications for promoting a competitive Europe ?" at the European Symposium "Construction of European Qualifications", 30 September to 1 October at the European Parliament in Strasbourg

The book "Soft Skills - Überfachliche Qualifikationen für betriebliche Arbeitsprozesse", ed. by. H-J Bullinger, R. Mytzek and B. Zeller, is now available at W. Bertelsmann Verlag.

The book  "Transparenz von Bildungsabschlüssen in Europa - Sektorale Studien zur Mobilität von Arbeitskräften"   edited by Ralf Mytzek and Klaus Schömann, is now available at edition sigma (2004).

The project manager Klaus Schömann has accepted a call for a professorship at the International University Bremen. Since May 1, 2004 he has been working there as a Professor for Professor of Sociology at the Jacobs Center for Lifelong Learning and Institutional Development at International University Bremen.

Since April 2003 the project is in his second phase and will be co-financed by the Federal Ministry of Education and research (BMBF) until April 2006.
