The sub-project on regional wage curves covers the question on the relationship between individual wage and unemployment on the regional level. On the base of micro-founded wage curve approach (Blanchflower 1994), target is to analyse the unemployment-wage relation on a regional level with data from the German Socio-economic Panel (GSOEP). First, a question is raised if such a wage curve can be identified with the GSOEP in 1996 to 2003 and under consideration of various econometric specifications. Second question is the specific influence of the qualification level on this relationship. If we find a wage-unemployment relationship, is this a signalling indicator? And if so, is it possible to make a statement for different branches or qualification levels in regions? Therefore wage curves will be estimated for different target groups.
