Beate
Jochimsen joined MPG as a research guest in January 2002
working in the areas of public finance, fiscal federalism and public
choice. She is especially interested in the following research
fields: conflicts in fiscal federalism, voting behavior on national
and European levels, eastern enlargement and financing of the EU as
well as fiscal equalisation systems and methods.
After studying in Heidelberg, London and Cologne, Beate
Jochimsen
was a research assistant at the Technical University of Berlin
from 1996 to 1999, where she finished her Ph.D. thesis on “The
Finances of the European Union”. In 2000 and 2001 she worked as
the chief of staff to Berlin's Federal Minister of Finance. Since
the beginning of 2002, she is a senior lecturer and research assistant
at the Free University, Berlin. Beate Jochimsen accepted a
position at the Berlin School of Economics in April 2010. |
