Thomas R. Cusack joined the Research Unit "Inequality and Social Integration" in August 2009.

From August 2007 until July 2009 Thomas Cusack worked as a Senior Research Fellow in the Research Unit "Market Processes and Governance". He was in charge of the Working Group on Institutions, States, and Markets at the Science Center Berlin until July 2007.

His research interests are in the fields of comparative politics and international relations. More specifically, his research has covered a wide number of areas including public finance in the OECD countries, defense economics, the bases of democratic performance, Realist theory in international relations, and the causes of war.
