Daniel Krähmer joined MPS as a research fellow in March 2001. The starting point of his research interest is in how far formal models can contribute to our understanding of social and economic problems. Central to his research is the theory of strategic games under incomplete information. He works on organisation and contract theory, here particularly on issues like “authority versus delegation” or “buy or make”. Also, he studies problems of strategic learning that analyse the behaviour of rational agents when the information relevant for decision making changes endogenously or exogenously with time.

Krähmer studied mathematics at University of Freiburg and Humboldt University Berlin. In 1998 he got his master (Diplom) degree in mathematics with a thesis on “Generalization of the Fisk-Stratonovich-Integral and Applications to Stochastic Differential Equations”. Between 1998 and 1999 he studied Economics at University College London (UCL) and finished as Master of Science with a thesis on “Aspects of Social Learning in Bandit Problems”. Since 1999 he is a member of the PhD programme “Applied Microeconomics” at Humboldt University Berlin.

Daniel Krähmer left the unit in September 2003.
